How
fit do I have to be?
We will be spending a number of hours in the saddle each day
so we suggest you undertake some long rides for a number of
weeks before the holiday. In addition we will be doing quite
a lot of hill work so it will help your horse if you feel
fit enough to stand in your stirrups for a few minutes at
a time to rest their backs. For additional comfort we suggest
you use a seat saver on your saddle.

What
should my riding ability be?
You need to feel confident with your horse, and feel able
to control it in open spaces and around other horses and riders.
The rides are long and taken at a leisurely rate due to the
type of tracks and terrain we cross. Walk and trot are the
usual paces but there are occasional places we may be able
to have short canters.
